I read this in today's Calgary Herald.

The article went on to describe how Barb Sharp, a 65-year old retiree, and her 11-month-old terrier-cross, Norton, were chased through her neighborhood. The doe "reared on it's hind legs, snorting and scratching the ground before it charged". "It was terrifying. This one was out to get me," reported Sharp who was fortunately rescued by a neighbor passing in their van. Frighteningly, this attack is reminiscent of another that took place a few weeks ago in Saanich.
So, I'm sorry Julie, for all the mocking I've done. Apparently your fears are totally grounded in reality.

That's funny. We just got back from Waterton and I was thinking of Julie's "hoofed-to-death" phrase all week. We had several deer walking right through our campsite every day.

Oh the sweet smell of vindication... :)
Watch out! If you're in Waterton watch out for the "paintballed" deer. Those have been marked by the conservation officers as "aggressive." They even told us to especially watch out with our small kids in strollers - I guess the deer have been known to be particularly aggressive towards them. Yikes!

Holy moly! I saw those"paintballed" deer. I think I may even have a picture of one -- up close!!
BTW, I think I'd get a little aggressive if someone tried to paintball me, too!
