What on earth could be keeping Lisa from enriching my life with her posts?
I know you have all been asking yourselves this, and the answer is... not a darn thing! Frankly, I've just been too lazy to leave my house to blog. Would you believe I fell asleep doing a crossword last night at
8:30 pm! Lazy. Laaaazzzyy.
Actually, I have just finished a housewide organizational spree (spawned by my anticipation of, and then Joanne's amazing execution of an organizationally-themed January Enrichment Activity!) Much "Type A" fun and OCD-esque glee ensued.
My main goal was to get rid of any and all cardboard boxes that were the result of our apartment dwelling years. Lots of stuff that should have had a permanent home in cabinets or on shelves was being stored in cardboard and shoe boxes in anticipation of a permanent home "someday". Also being utilized was the use it or lose it motto. I'm sure you are all familiar. You move to a new apartment and the super-small bathroom or kitchen will only allow the addition of a specific dimension of furniture, then you move again and its just not functional, but heaven forbid you get rid of it completely, because then it's practically certain that you'll move and find you needed it. Tales of woe from the girl who has moved 18 times in her 9 adult years. (The longest stints were one 2-year stay and two 1-years - and two 1-month temperary stints with angelic friends while homes were being found.) So now there is no unused shelving or cabinets adorning the back of a closet or crawl space and if I didn't love it or it wasn't a functional piece anywhere in my home it got tossed.
Oh, and got an offer today on a piece of furniture that I have been coveting in a friend's storage room. It will fix the very last of the "clean and organized, but not very functional or accessable" areas in my home. Three cheers for Lisa.
Oh yeah...and the kids and Trevor are doing good too.
